Janet Collins

Having had a passion for all things Quilty since I started learning nearly 30 years ago. Growing up with a needle in my hand always making and creating. I was in another life a Primary School Teacher and as such have been able to bring those skills into my teaching of patchwork and quilting as I travelling the world. Then I met the West’s.

Now I LOVE to machine quilt.

A Little background…

In 2009 whilst working in a local patchwork shop in Perth WA, I met Leonie and Bill West from Westalee Designs.

The rest as they say is history.

Actually the quilting my quilts, apart from ditch stitching was my nemesis. Then along came the Westalee Ruler Foot and Templates for domestic sewing machines. I became extremely proficient using Westalee that I also become the first Westalee Design Accredited Teacher in the world, being personally mentored by Leonie West. In 2015, I was invited by Leonie and Bill to accompany them to the Houston Quilt Market and Festival to teach and demonstrate their product and introduce it to the world.

Knowing, as I was once one of them, what the difficulties are for patchworkers, my gentle and humorous manner has helped my students worldwide gain confidence. My greatest pleasure, is to see people succeed.

My passion has given me new wings that allow me to quilt to my heart’s content.

Now I’m releasing my own Open Cut Templates to the world….
